Okino Computer Graphics is proud to have its PolyTrans
product reviewed by Brendon Perkins in 3D Design magazine. Please also refer to the review of PolyTrans in Game Developer magazine.
As quoted from the article, Mr. Perkins writes:
"PolyTrans from Okino Computer Graphics is one of the most exciting translation applications available for 3D designers. It provides previously non-existent capabilities. One complaint in the computer graphics business has been the lack of support for complete translation of datasets between the various 3D formats currently in use. Not only has Okino filled the void with PolyTrans, they've done it effectively",
"PolyTrans has successfully overcome significant obstacles to advance the state-of-the-art technology for converting between multiple 3D file formats.",
It's inappropriate to refer to this application as merely a translator because it's actually more. PolyTrans provides extensive capabilities for viewing, editing and optimizing datasets before exporting them to other formats...(feature list explanation)...In addition, PolyTrans is well-optimized for speed and memory usage.",
"As a test, I converted a Lightwave scene containing lights, cameras and fully textured models with bump maps to 3D Studio MAX to verify the vendor's claims. Everything was converted with no discrepancies. (two color images shown in magazine)".
"PolyTrans stands alone among 3D file format converters currently on the market."
NuGraf Review, 3D Design Magazine
Okino Computer Graphics is proud to have its NuGraf
product reviewed by David Duberman in 3D Design magazine.
In
the article Mr. Duberman walks through many of the complex aspects of the program, in particular the
texture layer editor of the material editor, the texture selector dialog box,
and the 3d and 2d texture editors.
As quoted from the article, Mr. Duberman writes:
"...all the (predefined material libraries) are useful, but it is the customization of the materials where NuGraf
shines. The material editor is simple on the surface... however, the program
provides a wealth of complexity and control underneath, perhaps best exemplified by the
texture layer editor... You also have access to various methods of combining layers, from simple mixing by percentages to sophisticated overlay techniques. There's much more to surface definitions (materials). At least one month of full-time experimentation would be necessary to begin to exhaust the possibilities of this (texture layering) aspect of the NuGraf Rendering System.",
"The program has since grown to import a wide variety of data formats, with an emphasis on rendering large data sets quickly, even on platforms with limited memory. Its import filters don’t require many alterations and its program defaults allow automatic scene and light setup with simple manipulation.".
