Transparency Mapped Teapot |
This is another example of modulating a shading parameter via a 2D texture image. In this case the transparency of the surface is affected by the intensity of the values in a 2D B&W checkerboard texture image. The surface is transparent where the texture image is white and opaque where the texture image is black. This demonstrates a very simple method to punch holes in an object without actually having to model the holes.
