How to convert SketchUp (.skp,.skb) to OrcaFlex (.yml,sim,.owr)?

PolyTrans|CAD+DCC performs mathematically precise CAD, DCC/Animation, GIS and BIM 3D file conversions into all key downstream 3D packages and file formats. Okino software is used and trusted throughout the world by many tens of thousands of 3D professionals in mission & production critical environments, backed by respectable personal support directly from our core development team.

SketchUp

SketchUp is a popular 3D design product originally developed by @Last Software and now owned by Trimble, Inc. It uses the .skp and .skb file extensions.

Okino recognized the growing popularity of SketchUp (well before it was purchased by Google and then Trimble) and as such we worked directly with the original SketchUp developer to create the first set of independent, professional and fully compliant SketchUp 3D converters outside of the SketchUp program itself.

OrcaFlex

OrcaFlex is a leading package for the dynamic analysis of offshore marine systems. OrcaFlex is renowned for its breadth of technical capability and user friendliness. OrcaFlex is used by offshore engineering business, with others in seismic, defence, ocean engineering, oceanographic research, aquaculture and related fields.

Converting data from Okino's conversion software into OrcaFlex can best be achieved using the DirectX file format, using Okino's bullet-proof DirectX export conversion system. The Orcina WEB site recommends that the exported models not be too large. If you are converting CAD models then you can set the mesh density on each Okino CAD importer. You can also use Okino's CAD-biased polygon reduction system to reduce the models prior to re-export to DirectX file format.
